Weekly Classroom Spotlight
Mrs. Morgan's STEM Class
Students in the JH STEM class kicked off the school year with a Mechanical Engineering Ice Breaker. Students were divided up into groups of 4-6 and were given the task of creating a mechanical device or machine. The only material that was given to each group, was themselves. Students had to create a human-machine. Students had 10 minutes to come up with a plan and then demonstrate what type of machine they were portraying in a charade type of activity. The other groups then took turns guessing what each group was trying to portray. It was a great ice breaker to get the students talking with one another and also getting in a design and creating mindset.
